Movies, a way to earn!

Are you a movie lover. Do you wait for every upcoming movie and read every review on on-going ones. Do you collect posters and pictures of movies. Do you know the actors and actresses in it. The plot and the people behind it. If so, you have a very good earning potential.

You can organize your movie talent into written words and convert it to a website.

Things you will have to place in the site:

1. The Plot
2. The Actors
3. Trailer-even links will suffice.
4. Pictures
5. Your opinion about the upcoming movie.
6. Location

the above items can be acquired by visiting the main page of the movie, researching about it and writing your own words into your site. You can even add trivias. Maybe about the shoot location or the actors in the film, or even a history of the film if it is a remake. Also search for games related to the movie. Most of the times for new movies you can ask game publishers to add links of their game for the upcoming movies to your site. Who knows you may even earn something by referring.

How to build the site:

1. Building a dot.com for the site.

You will have to register a domain name for the site ex. www.HellboyMovie.Com if it is still available, or create a variation.

Look for hosting. Free hosting is available at : www.zymic.com This one I use for my sites.

Look for a free website template. There are a lot of professional website templates in the net. Simply go to www.google.com and in the search box, type free website template.

Using website templates is more advisable than making your own, unless you are a designer. If you don't have the knack for it. Simply download a professional template matching the movie you are writting about.

2. Write a blog about it.

Nowadays, making a blog is a dime a dozen, actually not even a dime because they come for free.
When you write about a movie in a blog. make sure that the entire blog is about a single movie. This will give your blog focus. Also work extra hours in adding pictures and articles related to the movie you are featuring.

Movies are visual by nature. Purely text reviews will tire the audience. Unlike information pages.

Go to www.blogger.com to start a blog for the movie. The good thing about blogger is that it comes with templates so you don't have to worry about the look and feel of the site. It also displays articles per day so you can actually make a count down till the showing of the movie.

For free pictures of the stars and of the movie. Go the site of the producer. If that is still not enough go to royalty free picture sites. www.freefoto.com check out if they have pictures of the movie in stock.

How to monetize the site:

1. There are several ways to monetize. The easiest is by applying in Adsense.

Go to www.google.com/adsense to apply for an adsense account.
this will give you instructions on how to include adsense to your site. Include an account number assigned to you to monitor clicks on your site.

If you use blogger. Adding adsense is as simple as clicking a button. Though you will still have to apply for an adsense account.

Adsense account pays you a certain centavo for every clicks on their advertisement on your site.

2. Sell your site

Selling your site is only possible if you have your own dot.com or sub-domain. For blogs I havent heard yet of transactions involving free blog accounts being sold.

you can go to www.sitepoint.com click on the marketplace button and submit your site. Put in an expected minimum price and simply wait for inquiries. Select the highest bidder and sell.

You must have a paypal account to sell websites, or other options wherein you may receive payment. You may then have to turn over to the buyer the passwords and location to the site upon receipt of payment.

How much is a site worth

This may vary, also depends on how much you want. The best thing to gauge is by going to www.websitevaluecalculator.com and checking out how much your site is worth. Then multiply it by atleast 5 times. You can also check out www.sitepoint.com marketplace page and compare your price with other movie sites for sale.

I encountered a fan site for Hellboy 2 movie for sale at about 3,000.00 dollars which was sold in about 2 days after posting. I am not sure about the info since I lost the link to the site but from memory I can say that I was amazed at how much the site fetched. It couldnt have taken the author of the site a month to do it, most of the materials could just have been reworded from other sources and pictures grabbed from other sites and yet it was sold at 3,000.00 USD. I can still feel my saliva drip. hehehe.

The moral of this story is, if you have a knack for movies..I urge you, write a movie review! and build a movie site!

Website buy and sell: Website Flipping!

Website flipping! one of the hottest money making system in the internet. This is how the big guys play!

Ever since the start of the internet, website buy and sell has been a major money making activity already. Initially limited to a few who knows. Now a lot of people are learning that this method or system is really very easy to do. That is, if you have enough cash to purchase a site or if you have a nice dot.com site to sell.

Buying and selling websites:

There are primary activities you should do when buying websites. These includes:

1. Going to sites where websites for sale are posted.

Buy and sell web sites - http://www.sitepoint.com/ click on the marketplace link. This site lists a lot. Plus information on how much the author of the site is asking.

2. Determining the monetary value of websites.

You can visit http://www.websitevaluecalculator.com/ this site will compute values of websites you specify. All you have to do is to type in the url in their provided box and whala! you get the monetary value of the site.

Aside from this, you must do due diligence. I mean look into the dot.com financial reports. How much is it really earning! Does it have a lot of payables. Remember we want value for money, so COMPUTE!

You can then use this as basis for your offers in buying websites. Though you usually have to consider the following when buying.

Membership Sites

This sites are the best to buy. It already has a loyal traffic source and you may monetize the membership by charging a premium for added service or "Secrets" hehehe.

The usual going rate for membership site is 36 to 48 times its present monthly earning. So if the site is earning 1,000.00 USD the selling rate will usually be 36,000.00 USD to 46,000.00 USD.

Even with the high initial purchase cost, if you have the money, this is still the best choice. If you are able to improve the site and increase its membership you may be able to sell it up to 10 times your initial purchase cost.

Also, this site has a sure souce of monthly income. Specially if you charge a monthly membership fee.

Sites that sell physical products

This sites can be acquired with a purchase price equivalent to 20 to 36 times its present monthly earnings!

This site have both pros and cons. If the products are just softwares, ebooks, photos or arts. Anything that can be delivered online this can be easy.

If the sites sell jewelry, clothing or appliance you may have to take care of additional stuff like securing the product suppliers and delivery methods.

3. Negotiating payment options for buyers

Ask the seller if he can provide you with payment options. For really costly sites, ask them if they can sell it to you on an installment basis. Even if you have the money, still ask them this option. It will be wiser since you can acquire it at a minimal cost and pay the remainder based on the earning of the site. Just don't default on the payments or they might foreclose on the property :-)

If you are the seller make sure you get post dated checks or a well written contract before going on with the sale, specially if your site is already making money. Also for installment sales it is alright to charge a small interest per month on the payment.

TIP:

You must also have a fair knowledge of internet technology or have people around you who knows it. Flipping websites is a professional activity, you must have the proper knowledge or guidance in doing this. Unless of course if you have a lot of money for trial and error.

Somethings which will be important will be:

1. Domain name registration
2. ftp location for the site.
3. the description of the files on the site.
4. Used technology (PHP, MYSQL, ASP, MSSQL etc.)

After acquiring the site, you may still have to do a little improvement before you can sell it. If you are lucky and already have a buyer, sell it as soon as possible with atleast 3 times the price.
Remember we are in it for the money. The faster you get your money plus earnings back, the better.

Selling ebooks and softwares

Internet research is turning out to be one of my strengths. Information seems to flow smoothly towards me whenever I am searching something.

From google search results to adwords, to links from sites I visit. This is good for you. Since you readers will benefit in terms of concrete information. Some of this things are the secrets several paid ebooks are selling. Enjoy!

http://www.shareit.com/ - this site allows you to sell your ebooks, in case you have a knack for writing informative texts and the ability to focus and compile it into a single ebook. This site can actually help you sell your stuff.

Also, this site allows posting of softwares. So if you are a programmer and can create tools, maybe a windows registry cleaner or a firewall program. This site can market the software for you.

The good thing about it is that it will not charge you for joining. It will take a 15% commission per sale. It's a good deal considering there's no initial charge.

I hope I can make some usefull tools too.

Whoa! another 40 sites to make money!

While surfing, I managed to bump into the blog of www.dumblittleman.com which gives a list of his "online money" bookmarks. Though I didn't really went one by one on the sites. I thought it will be beneficial for others to share the info. He has graciously provided us with the following:

40 Ways to Make Money on the Internet

(From: http://www.dumblittleman.com/2006/10/40-ways-to-make-money-on-internet.html)

I did a little bookmark scrub this morning and thought I would share the remaining content of my "Online Money" folder. To warn you, there are certain things that I don't like and never bookmark so:

What's NOT included: Taking Surveys, Get Paid to Surf the Internet, MLM, Programs with a ton of negative user experiences (based on researching forums, Googling them, etc.), Contest Sites, "Buy my DVD, CD, Audiobook", etc.

What IS included: Things you can use to legitimately make money online - Everything from Getting Paid to review software to good ole' Adsense.

Anyway, here you go. The second batch is available here.

Adbrite - Sell space on your site for text ads

Amazon Affiliate Program - Easily create a store or shopping section on your site instead of sending your visitors to Amazon. Amazon handles the shopping cart and fulfillment.

Amazon Seller - Sell your stuff on Amazon

Associated Content - If you write a story, how-to, rant, etc. you can submit it to them and they will pay you $3-$20 per article if they like it

Azoogleads - Another ad program. They do have some decent companies lined up as advertisers. You provide space, they'll provide an ad.

BidVertiser - PPC (pay per click) program with a low $10 payout amount.

Bravenet - These guys offer a ton of services for webmasters and blog owners. Although I feel like I was spammed for a while, it has ceased and they'll pay you $1 for each person you send over

Blog - Start a blog and consistently write excellent content. With good ad placement, you may make some money.

Business Opportunities Blog - I am adding this because I am a subscriber to their site and I see ideas everyday that could result in making money. A lot of the ideas pertain to online businesses. If you are an aspiring entrepreneur, it's a good reference.

Cafepress - You provide a design, they'll toss it on a T-Shirt, Hat, etc. No upfront costs. Get a free online shop and promote your products on your website.

Chitika - Their eMiniMalls service has shown great results for many Bloggers and site owners. You choose a keyword and they show relevant products on your site using a pretty unique interface.

Clickbank - Another Affiliate Program site with 10,000+ products to advertise

ClicknWork - Get paid $5-$150 per hour for basically doing freelance work on a per-assignment basis. You have to pass a pretty tough test to get in.

Clicksor - These are the guys that generate contextual ads on sites that show up when you hover over a double-underlined word.

Commission Junction - If you have a site, you can join Commission Junction. Once enrolled for free, you can choose companies whose ads are pertinent to your site. Companies have the ultimate say on working with you. There are easily over 1,000 companies to choose from here.

CreamAid - For blogs only, advertisers provide you with a topic and you write about it on your site. To do this, you have to install a flash widget into your blog post. The more people you bring into the conversation through the widget, the more you get paid. It's difficult to explain.

eefoof - Think of it as YouTube + Flickr + Music. You add original content and they pay you based on the visitors you attract.

Ether - If you are an expert on something, Ether provides a way for people to pay you to talk about it in a one-on-one setting. If you want to charge $250/hr, that's fine. You have to do all the advertising so you should have a blog or site already established.

eBay- Come on, you know what this is. Gather your junk and sell it!

eBay Stores - If you have a real store and want to sell your stuff online, this is a decent option to
get you started.

ELance - Name gives it away. Programmers, Codes, Web Designers, Writers, Editors, can look for freelance opportunities.

Feedvertising - This is an arm of Text Link Ads and is currently only good for Wordpress 2.0 Users. This does me no good currently, but as you can guess, they place ads in your feed(s).

Feedburner - Not only are they the best place to house your feeds, they will also add ads to your feed and website. You get paid per impression.

Google Adsense - Come on, you don't need an explanation; these ads are all over the place.
Google displays relevant ads based on your site's content

Google Adwords - Create simple text ads and choose keywords that determine when they are displayed. This is where the Adsense Content comes from. You do not need a site for this.

H3.com - Get paid to fill jobs. Commissions range from $50-$5,000. It all depends on how tough the job is to fill and how desperate the hiring company is. This is another one that's tough to explain.

Indeed.com - Add their job board to your site. They then post jobs based on the geographic location of visitors and the position types you pre-select. I tried it and I they continually report that I sent 0 visitors and I know that's not right. Nevertheless, I may have an isolated problem so they make the list.

InnerSell - If you have a customer that wants to buy something you cannot sell, you can sell the lead here.

Jellyfish - This is a shopping site that pays you a percentage of the purchases made by people you refer. They are not part of a wider affiliate program so you do it direct.

Jigsaw - It's a pretty flaky model but if you have a Rolodex full of good contacts, you can sell them here. I can't make sense of it but it looks like you get $0.10 per profile.

KarmaOne - They are basically a recruiting website. If you fill one of their jobs by finding a good candidate, you'll get paid anywhere from $50-$12,000. It all depends on how desperate the hiring company is.

LinkShare.com - If you have a site, you can join Linkshare. Once enrolled for free, you can choose companies whose ads are pertinent to your site. Companies have the ultimate say on working with you. Like Commission Junction, there are a ton of companies waiting to evaluate your site.

Microsoft Adcenter - Bid on keywords and Microsoft places your created ads then they are searched for. This is similar to Google Adwords. You do not need a site for this.

Overstock.com - Sell your stuff on Overstock.com

Pageflakes - This is a company that developed a user-defined Ajax homepage to show feeds, flickr photos, and a ton of other things. Think of it as a replacement for your Google Homepage.
Anyway - they'll pay you $1 per referral that you send over. They are not part of a wider affiliate program so you do it direct. This one is pretty simple.

Pay Per Post - I don't agree with this model entirely but they have advertisers that will pay you to write about their products on your blog.

Pheedo - If you have an RSS feed, run it through Pheedo. Like Feedburner, they can include ads into your feed and if you really become large, advertisers will pay a premium for you to show their ads.

Shareasale.com - I've never really worked with them but I do have an account. They are similar to Commission Junction and Linkshare however they seem to have lower tiered companies with advertising offers.

Shoemoney - This is a blog that can teach you a ton on making money online. I've spent hours reading his old stuff.

Software Judge - They will pay you up to $50 to review software.

Text Link Ads - I have never made a dime here but I know people that have. You can earn by sending advertisers to them or by selling spots on your site. You must have a real site or blog to do this - nothing on a shared domain (i.e. /blogspot).

Vibrant Media - Don't bother unless your site has 500,000 page views of text based content a month. If you have that readership, these are the guys that display bubble box ads to underlined words on your site.

West Work At Home Agent - Not entirely online but this is worth a mention because it's won awards and is very legitimate. If you are an at-home Mom or free-lancer without work, you should check this out.

Yahoo! Merchant Solutions - This is a pretty simple and cheap way to create an online store.
